Fabrication Project Manager

Project Manager: Position Summary 

Starch is seeking an experienced and highly organized Project Manager to support our Fabrication team in overseeing custom build projects from kickoff through installation. This role is responsible for managing timelines, coordinating internal and external teams, reviewing engineering and fabrication documentation, and ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience within fabrication, retail environments, experiential builds, or custom fixture production and is comfortable working both in the shop and on-site during installations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage fabrication projects from initial handoff through final installation and closeout
  • Review and interpret engineering drawings, shop drawings, and fabrication plans to ensure project accuracy and feasibility
  • Coordinate with internal fabrication, production, creative, and account teams to maintain project alignment
  • Develop and manage project schedules, production timelines, and installation calendars
  • Track project budgets, material procurement, production progress, and change orders
  • Communicate proactively with vendors, subcontractors, installers, and clients regarding timelines, deliverables, and project updates
  • Conduct site visits and oversee on-site installations to ensure proper execution and quality control
  • Identify and resolve project challenges, fabrication conflicts, and installation issues in real time
  • Ensure all projects meet safety standards, quality expectations, and client specifications
  • Maintain organized project documentation including RFIs, drawings, schedules, approvals, and punch lists

Qualifications

  • 3–5+ years of project management experience within fabrication, retail environments, experiential marketing, millwork, exhibits, or custom builds
  • Strong understanding of fabrication processes, construction methods, materials, and build elements
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical plans, and shop drawings
  • Experience managing and supporting on-site installations
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office/Google Workspace
  • Comfortable working collaboratively across creative, production, and client-facing teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience within retail fixture fabrication, experiential activations, or environmental design
  • Familiarity with CNC, metal, wood, acrylic, paint, or large-format fabrication workflows
  • Understanding of permitting, logistics, and field installation coordination
  • OSHA certification or familiarity with job site safety protocols
